Hey guys,
Here are the resources to any kind of CG stuff that you guys might be in need of. Take note and open your eyes - don't just click and look at the first page. Explore around. I'm sure you'll find lots of relevant stuff =) So, here goes!
3D Total.com
- lots of CG tutorials and references, particularly in the tutorials section. There's a CG artist gallery also. Dion & Angie, can find lots of references and inspiration for 2D artwork
RealFlow forum
- Greg, anything you don't know about RealFlow, sign up for this forum and post your query. People will help you out
Digital Tutors
- lots of references for Maya tutorials. Currently the site is upgrading so there aren't any free tutorials up there. But do check it often. I'll update once the site is done properly. Currently the only site with lots and lots of free Maya tutorials. Basics included.
LearningMaya.com
- never tried this site before, but I think it looks good. Has quite a lot of free tutorials
HighEnd 3D
- good site for free tutorials, 3D models, rigs and stuff. For Dion & Jake, if you guys wana practice animating before starting work on the actual thing, there are some good rigged models there that you can get for free. So yea. For Greg, this is a good site for MEL tutorials also, if you remember what that is :p
Maya MEL
- MEL information & tutorials - GREG, THIS IS FOR YOU!!!
Okay guys, that's a lot of stuff. If you need more stuff, just google it up. One tip. When you're searching in google, for exmple, you want to search for how to model a car in Maya, please don't type "how to model a car in Maya" in the search bar. Cos google doesn't recognise words like "how to" and stuff like that. Be simple and type the keywords like "car modelling in Maya tutorials." Be specific and get to the point. Don't be long winded =)
I'm thinking of posting a video tutorial on some of the short-cuts of Maya and how to customize the shortcuts so that the workflow will be easier. But nothing in confirmed. All depends on how much time I have =)
One last thing. Any works that you guys have done, be it a still jpeg or a quicktime file, please post it up here for the rest of the Crewsaders. Critiques will be given by everyone. Also, if anyone has good references, do share and post it up here. Lets make this blog work kay.
